‘L’Afrique c’est Chique’

L’Afrique c’est Chique is her latest work and is still ongoing. This series of digital collages is based on classical African art. She finds it challeging to combine antique wooden sculptures with a person of flesh and blood. She thought about the female shape which has been her main topic as long as she can remember, and how this could met together with already exsting objects. Three dimensional African sculptures are often very expressive and she wanted to treat these two elements as if they were the same. The combinantion of working inanimate objects and people fascinated her.
