As a multimedia artist, Robert Hodge uses various materials for his creations. Scraps of old newspapers and deteriorating posters find a new life in his collages. Much of his art deals with African American History and the preservation of storytelling. He also owns 3 Muse Gallery, a community gallery for local artists.
Hodge likes the process of making actual work. Researching for his art is informative and helps feed the production, but it’s the multiple ways of expressing his research that’s special. “The actual slanging of paint and drawing is the most enjoyable for me,” he says.
