Lee Harvey  has been involved in researching higher education policy since the late 1980s and is an acknowledged expert, inter alia, on issues of quality, employability and student feedback.

Publications include: Transforming Higher Education (1996), an exploration of the connections between the drive for quality and the reforms in teaching and learning, and the higher education-employment interface, and Critical Social Research (1990), numerous articles or chapters in refereed journals or texts on higher education policy and social research methodology.
